If you want to Join Indian Territorial Army as a TRADESMAN, you must apply for Indian Territorial (T.A)  Army Soldier recruitment program. Indian Territorial (T.A)  Army conducts Open Rally and Soldier recruitment drives to fill up Tradesman vacancies.

If you have completed 8th or 10th class from a recognized board with aggregate 33% marks, then You are eligible to apply for this post.

ARMY TRADESMAN – NATURE OF WORK

Each trade of the Indian Army is responsible for fulfilling normal duties that allow a unit as it depends upon its numerous servicemen of a different trade. Now in terms of Indian Army Tradesman wok, the duty varies.

There are different post under the Tradesman cadre which are Chef, Dresser, Animal Store Holder, Ferrier, Steward, Artisan (wood, painter, tailor, metallurgy), Musician, Equipment Repairer, Kennel man, Washerman, Mess Keeper, House Keeper.

Due to the difference in-between these posts the general duty differs accordingly, however the duties for these posts of two separate categories in terms of Indian Army Tradesman duty requisites.

Nationality: Candidates must be citizens of India and unmarried.

Age Limits: Between 18 to 42 years, as per the original documents (8th or 10th class DMC) of the student.

Educational Qualifications: For Technical

  • You have to passed 8th or 10th class. No stipulation in aggregate percentage but should have scored min 33% in each subject.

Selection Procedure :-

The Very first step is to find the advertisment on sources like employment newspaper, the internet or by contacting the nearest recruiting office of your zone. the dates are then announced on notice boards and media sources which include the important information about the required documents like: Extra physical activities certificates, 10 Class Dmc for birth proof, 12 Class Dmc for Qualification Proof, Character certificate, Domicile and latest 30-40 Passport size photos.

1. Height & Weight Required For Indian Territorial Army Tradesman-

  • Height – Minimum 160 cm
  • Chest – After the expansion should not be less than 77 cm, there must be minimum expansion of 5cm.
  • Weight – Should not be less than 50 kg.

2. Physical Fitness Tests (PFT) In Indian Territorial Army Tradesman-

To determine the Physical Fitness, the following tests carrying 100 marks are held:-

  1. 1.6 Km Race or 1600 meter or 1 Mile Run.
  2. Pull ups
  3. Balance test
  4. 9 Feet Ditch

* Only have to Qualify the Physical Fitnes Test (PFT) , No-Marking System for Indian Territorial Army Clerk.

(a) 1600 meter Race/ 1.6 Km / 1 MILE RUN

  • Race should be Completed within 5 Min. 45 Seconds. – qualifying test

 (b) Beam/PULL UPS

  • 10 Pull Ups on beam – qualifying test.

(c) Balance Test : These are qualifying test and no marks are awarded.

(d) 9 Feet Ditch: These are qualifying test and no marks are awarded.

  • A candidate should have robust physique and good mental health.
  • Chest should be well developed having minimum 5 cms expension.
  • Should have normal hearing with each ear and good binocular vision in both eyes. He should be able to read 6/6 in distant vision chart with each eye. Colour vision should be CP – III (able to recognize white, red and green signal colours correctly as shown by Martin’s Lantern at 1.5 meters).
  • Should have sufficient number of natural healthy gum and teeth i.e. minimum 14 dental points.
  • Should not have diseases like deformity of bones, hydrocele and varicocele or piles.
  • Soldier General Duty for Infantry should have 6/6 eye sight.

1.Exam Process For Tradesman in Indian Territorial (T.A) Army :

Note: Total time given to this Exam is 60 Minutes, 1/4 negative marking for wrong answer.

After passing all these above tests Indian Army prepares Final Selection List after 15-30 days of Exams. The List is based on the marks secured by the candidates in the examination procedure. Those who make their name in the merit list served with the call letter to Join Indian Armed Force.

The test will include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography and who’s who. In addition Abbreviations, Sports, Awards and Prizes, Terminology, Indian Armed Forces, Continents and Sub Continents, Inventions and Discoveries, The Constitution of India, International Organizations, Books and Authors, Knowledge of Important events that have happened in India and at world level in the recent years, Current important world events, Prominent personalities etc.

 

2. General Science :

Topics
Question of General Science will include topic related to Physics, Chemistry and Biology. based on fundamentals and day to day activities( i.e, difference between the living and non- living, basis of life – cells, protoplasms and tissues, growth and reproduction in plants and animals, elementary knowledge of human body and its important organs, common epidemics, their causes and prevention etc).

 

3. Mathematics :

Topics

(i) Number Systems: Computation of Whole Number, Decimal and Fractions, Relationship between numbers

(ii) Fundamental Arithmetical Operations: HCF, LCM, Decimal fraction, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest (Simple and Compound), Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Time and distance, Time and work.

(iii) Algebra: Basic algebraic problems

(iv) Geometry: Familiarity with elementary geometric figures and facts.

(v) Mensuration: Triangle, Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons, Circle etc

(vi) Trigonometry: Trigonometry, trigonometric ratios, complementary angles, height and distances etc.

 

4. Logical Reasoning:

The questions will be based on the logical ability of the candidates of age group ranging between 16 to 20 years
